General Responsibilities

To provide individual, family and group psychotherapy for Indian Creek Foundation Outpatient Center.  To act as a Lead Clinician of therapy services, audit charts, and assist with the development of policies and procedures for the Outpatient Center.

Education/Training: Masters Degree in Social Work or Ph. D in Psychology, active Pennsylvania State License as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Psychologist, accepted for credentialing with Health Choices within 3 months of employment.

Skill(s): Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership ability, confident in a broad array of clinical approaches, proficient in Microsoft programs

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and at least 3 years of experience in the mental health field


Essential Duties

  1. Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy to consumers of the Outpatient Center
  2. Build strong therapeutic relationships with consumers
  3. Ensure treatment is goal focused
  4. Monitor progress of consumers
  5. Evaluate ongoing needs of consumers and make referrals as necessary
  6. Coordinate treatment with other members of the outpatient team, including the outpatient coordinator and psychiatrist
  7. Review Utilization Review recommendations with Coordinator and make changes as necessary
  8. Seek to enhance ability to provide a milieu of therapeutic models, such as trauma specific treatment models, psycho-educational models, and cognitive behavioral therapies.
  9. Maintain an average of 70% billable hours, pending circumstances beyond therapist's control such as insufficient caseload or no shows
  10. Reschedule cancelled appointments to the extent possible to maximize billable hours
  11. Submit billing in a timely manner


  • Provide leadership to Outpatient Therapy Program
  • Initiate new groups to meet needs of children and adults
  • Research and implement evidence based practices for children and adults with autism or intellectual disabilities
  • Build relationships with community members or other providers of services to children and adults, and make referrals for additional services or supports as needed
  • Assist with marketing of child and adult outpatient services


  • Participate in ensuring clinical compliance of Outpatient charts
  • Evaluate progress notes, treatment plans, and bio-psychosocial assessments to ensure that they possess sufficient detail.
  • Conduct intake assessments as well as quarterly treatment plan reviews for psychiatrist.
  • Work with outpatient office manager and outpatient coordinator to ensure that necessary paperwork is present in charts in a timely manner
  • Participate in quarterly internal audits


  • Demonstrate initiative in developing new procedures to improve outpatient program
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures in the outpatient policy and procedure notebook

Other Duties  

  • Assist the Coordinator with various administrative tasks to support department operations as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
